NEXT GEN. GLOBAL FRONTIER PRESENTATION RECAP AT ST. GALLEN SYMPOSIUM, SINGAPORE

This presentation was delivered by Tavis Tan, Board Member and Head of Partnerships and Operations of the NGGF.

At the St. Gallen Symposium, Singapore, Tavis shared how the Symposium led him to join Next Gen. Global Frontier at the warm invitation of Damilola M. Oguntade as a Board Member and Head of Partnerships and Operations. According to him, “we had since expanded our presence in Asia through the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, partnerships with GreenCheck, Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Tokyo, and the ASEAN Youth Organization.” He also shared the exciting news of our recently confirmed partnership with The Club of Rome and the St. Gallen Symposium in their new joint initiative, A New Generational Contract, in the lead-up to the 52nd St. Gallen Symposium.

Correspondingly, the theme of the next Symposium – “A New Generational Contract” – is apt and timely. In line with the work of the NGGF, Tavis emphasized that “the sense of a contract suggests a level of obligation and commitment, and it goes beyond just seeking collaboration, but concretizing action. A contract fosters trust and stability, through certainty and commitment; and a renewed generational contract should renew that spirit of collaboration across the generations.”

On this note, he concluded by urging all the participants and stakeholders to reflect on what they have inherited and what they might want to leave behind for the next generation. This is the true essence of sustainability and the drive force of the Next Gen. Global Frontier.
