We are informed by the emergence of new disruptions putting global governance and development under pressure.
Damilola is a new-generation global impact leader pioneering the Next Gen. Global Frontier. Asides from being a lawyer, he is an exceptionally-minded individual, thought leader, and borderless executor who having lived, studied, and traveled within and across Africa, Europe, Eurasia and the United States, is highly invested in building an impact-driven portfolio in international development and governance.
He is a University of Glasgow-led Erasmus Mundus Masters scholar in International Law of Global Security, Peace and Development with a specialization pathway in International Economics, Sustainability and Governance at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany. Prior to this, Damilola has built his research competence and leadership profile in sustainability research, policy and practice through his internship and consultancy positions at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) in 2019, the pioneer World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) Nigeria Country Office’s Sustainability Committee in 2020/21, as well as the Sustainability Directorate Office at Lafarge Africa Plc in 2020/21.
He has equally contributed as a panelist at the European Union (EU)-Africa Parternship with sectoral focus on raw materials, agriculture and the automotive industry at a summit organized by the United Europe e.V. at ESMT, Berlin, Germany in July 2022; where he advocated for a people-oriented and youth-centred Europe-Africa partnership on development cooperation and climate action. He is currently a member and a youth leader at the United Europe e.V where he works on policy projects surrounding energy, climate, and sustainability within the context of the EU-Africa Partnership with established professionals and stakeholders within the organization.
In terms of industry and high-level engagements, Damilola has engaged with industry leaders in the world of green energy as a delegate at the 12th Dii Desert Energy Leadership Summit in Cairo, Egypt, prior to COP27. He has also represented the Africa-Europe Foundation as a youth delegate at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Parties, COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. He delivered an intervention on a panel chaired by Alok Sharma, COP26 President at the UK Pavilion on the role of the Next Gen. Global Frontier in positioning youth as the centre of bridging the implementation gaps in high-level climate and sustainability agreements into local-level impact and implementation.
Tavis is a Master in Public Policy (Economics and Development) candidate at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. His interests lie in geopolitics in Southeast Asia, governance, and sustainable development, and he is a Global Policy, Diplomacy, and Sustainability Fellow. Tavis also represented Singapore as a Leader of Tomorrow at the 51st St. Gallen Symposium, where his essay on intergenerational collaboration and social contracts won Top 25 in the global essay competition. He has also spoken as a Youth Leader on tech-diplomacy, multilateralism, and regional security.
Tavis was selected to represent Singapore at the ASEAN Youth Conference in Cambodia, and the ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum, organized by the ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Partnership, in response to the United Nations’ call for the emergence of global leaders from Southeast Asia. He was appointed to the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, Tokyo’s Steering Committee for LCOY17 in preparation for COP27 Egypt, and Chair of the Youth Delegate Forum.
In Singapore, Tavis is the Head of Partnerships at The Signpost Project, a non-profit in the social service sector, and Co-Founder of The Vine Collective. A scholar in Singapore’s Civil Service, he has served as a Liaison Officer for the 2018 Trump-Kim Summit, 33rd ASEAN Summit, and the World Cities Summit 2022. Tavis has also completed stints at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.
Tavis graduated from Yale-NUS College in Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Global Affairs and Literature and is now part of the International Trade Research Program advancing sustainable global trade at the Hinrich Foundation.
Alisha Houlihan’s background in Journalism and Communications and her strong interests in European Union affairs and international development has set her apart as an outstanding youth advocate. In her home country of Ireland, she has served as the Youth Council Member at the US Embassy in Ireland, Youth Ambassador at the European Youth Card Association in Brussels, Belgium and a host of other workshops and hackathons around Europe since age 16.
Following her passion for youth work and working with like-minded individuals to create a positive change for society through engagements on pressing topics of social importance, Alisha joined the NGGF’s board of directors in October 2021 and moderated its premier workshop and launch event at the University of Glasgow.
Through her various years of experience working with youth organisations all around Europe, she looks at new ideas and projects. She is excited for the future of the NGGF and all of the progress it has made thus far and beyond!
Alisha currently serves as a Communications Officer at the Young European Leadership (YEL) and works in correspondence with various youth leaders and established European professionals within and outside the network.
Razy Aman Eddine is a Lebanese lawyer and legal researcher. He graduated summa cum laude from the prestigious Beirut Arab University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law & Jurisprudence as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Lebanese University. He is pursuing a joint master’s degree in the International Law of Global Security, Peace & Development (EMJMD–ILGSPD) at the University of Glasgow (UofG), the Institut Barcelona d’EstudisInternacionals (IBEI), and Université Libre de Bruxelles(ULB).
Razy previously participated in various programmes related to International Law, including the fully funded ‘Model International Criminal Court’ organized by the Kreisau–Initiative in Poland and Germany in 2017, and the Inter-University Programme on International Criminal Law & Procedures set by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) in cooperation with the Asser Instituut & 11 Universities. In the latter, he ranked first, and was awarded a fully funded legal training at the STL in the Hague in 2019. In 2020, he was awarded the ‘Jamal Abdel Nasser Award for Academic Distinction’ in the field of legal studies. Besides his academic expertise, Razy has national legal experience in Lebanon. After graduation, he worked as a paralegal for one year, before passing his bar exams at the Beirut Bar Association. Ranking first, he was awarded the Beirut Bar Association Distinction and was the valedictorian of the 2021 BBA cohort at the oath-taking ceremony in front of the Civil Court of Appeal in Beirut.
Grace Gubbins is a First Class LLB graduate from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She is an Erasmus Mundus LLM fellow in International Law of Global Security, Peace and Development at the University of Glasgow and Leuphana University Luneburg, alongside an MA in International Security from the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals.
Following her previous work and internship experiences as a Sustainability Officer at the Edinburgh Fashion Society from 2019-2021; Compliance Intern – Energy 4 Impact at the Mercy Corps in 2022 and Research Intern at the Institut de Ciencia Tecnologia Ambientals, Spain, 2022, Grace has over time built a track record of excellence in research and legal compliance for sustainability practice and impact. She now specializes in International Economics, Sustainability and Governance with specific interests in biodiversity, energy and natural resource governance.
Elene Bokhochadze is a Bachelor and Master’s degree holder in International Law from the Tbilisi State University, Georgia. She is also an Erasmus Mundus LLM fellow in International Law of Global Security, Peace and Development (ILGSPD) at the University of Glasgow, an MA in International Security from the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals and a specialized master in Public International Law at the Universite libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.
Apart from her work and internship experiences at the Legal Provision Department, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Georgia in 2018/19, and the Department of International Law, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgia in 2019, her previous engagements as an AIESEC volunteer teacher in the Czech Republic in 2017; Office Manager at the TBSC Consulting, 2020/21, and Media Assistant for the ILGSPD in 2021/22 demonstrates her expertise in media management and passion for social impact.
